Anthony McNeese is facing a host of charges for allegedly setting the fire inside a Bethel Street home in Salisbury on Sunday, July 10, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
First responders from the Salisbury Fire Department were dispatched to the two-story home at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night, where a crew of four firefighters took less than five minutes to control a small fire that was reported in a closet inside a bedroom of the residence.
The investigation into the fire determined that McNeese allegedly intentionally set the fire during a domestic disagreement that took place earlier in the evening.
At the time of the fire, officials said that the home was occupied by Shanna Farrare and her three children.
The fire marshal noted that the residence was not equipped with a fire alarm or a sprinkler system, however, it did have working smoke alarms.
The damage to the home is estimated to be approximately $1,000 to the structure itself and an estimated $2,000 to the contents that were burned inside the closet.
McNeese was charged with:
- First-degree arson;
- Second-degree arson;
- First-degree malicious burning;
- Second-degree malicious burning;
- Four counts of reckless endangerment.
He was transported by the Salisbury Police Department where he was seen by a Court Commissioner. McNeese is being held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
